Fall 2018 Newsletter

With summer coming to an end (hopefully with an end to the smoke & fires) and fall’s cooler temps on the way, we can look back on spring & summer and be proud of all the accomplishments we have made when it comes to rebuilding and maintaining our wonderful community. I would personally like to thank every member of the Reflection Lake Community Association that has volunteered to be on the board of directors, chair a committee, participate on a committee, show up for a work party or attend one of the monthly board meetings and voice an opinion. Without your commitment of time and energy none of the things we did would have been possible. We have made great strides when it comes to repairing our community’s lake access lots by completing major repairs on both Bald Eagle Beach & Turtle Beach. We are close to completing a year long review of our CC&R / Bylaws, and will hopefully be prepared to send these out to all Reflection Lake property owners for their review, comments and votes before the end of the year. We had a great turnout for the annual meeting and hope to see even more members next year. In closing, be prepared for another busy year ahead with the need for volunteers as great as ever. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, this is the fastest and easiest way for us to keep the community updated on up coming projects, needs and events. Also we will do our best to produce a quarterly newsletter for those who don’t use the internet. Sincerely , Glen Mumm, President RLCA

Conservation, Maintenance and Dams Committee

We had a very busy year! Our committee as well as many volunteer neighbors accomplished a lot. This coming year we hope to do the same. As we enter into fall, we will be adding sand to Eagle & Turtle beaches, trimming trees all around and repairing items listed by our committee. We hope to have as good a turnout from our members as we did last year. We will be informing you as to when these work parties will happen through Facebook and posting on the bulletin board at the north end of Sheets Road. Our C.M.D meetings are held at the community center on the last Tuesday of every month. Our next meeting will be August 28 @ 6:30. Please come and join us in making our lake community a great place to live! Sincerely, Dan Loos, Vice President

Security

Security patrols are winding down for the 2018 season. Overall, the season went very well. There were several informational contacts made and with the consistent daily rounds by cart, private vehicle, boat, and foot, most potential problems were solved quickly. In addition, what helped tremendously for the security in our community are all the people that kept their eyes and ears open for anything out of the ordinary. That is all of you who live here on Reflection Lake. On behalf of the “security” team, I want to thank you all for your support and assistance through these busy summer months. Your waves and smiles go a long way. Next spring we will be looking for anyone who wants to assist with making rounds of the lake. Any help is welcome. Thank you Jeanie Keehn for volunteering for a month this season. I know there were several others who assisted as your daily routines allowed. Weekly, monthly or a day or two to give our security volunteers a little break once in awhile are all welcome. Also, if you have any suggestions for what we might do to improve our security please let us know. You can come to a board meeting and give input, or use our suggestion box on the community center. A special thank you to Charlie and Sandy Bennett for loaning their golf cart to the team this summer. Didn’t have to use my tow strap at all!!! As Jim Boothby steps down as the lead for security, I know he will still be involved as able with his schedule. When you see Jim, you should give him a pat on the back for putting together a good program.    Take care. Gary Long

Treasurer

Debby G. has moved to Liberty Lake, and we are looking for a member who would be interested in the Board position as Treasurer. You must be a member, dues paid, and have no fear of math or quickbooks. Jim Boothby is the acting Treasurer and will help bring you up to speed. If you would like to contribute to the community and make a difference this is a position of great importance. If interested contact Jim at 292-8581.
