At today’s Annual Meeting the 2023-2024 Budget was approved by all members present.
The following members were elected to 3 year terms on the Board of Directors:

Jerry Parker
Dinece Brown
The following members were elected as alternates:
Jeff Toffer
Robert Syverson
Joe Dickinson
The remaining Directors are:
Gary Long
Sandi Bennett
Joe Kokinda
Jim Boothby
Russell Bishop
Terry Zoesch
The new board will elect the Executive Committee(President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary), at the next regular Board of Directors meeting on August 1, 2023 at 6PM.

2023 RLCA Election
Hello neighbors, after the annual meeting, I heard reports of several members questioning how the membership could be confident in the results of the election. I am sorry I did not discuss the election procedures at the meeting, but I hope this explanation will help answer some of the questions.
Members of the election committee opened the envelopes, and compared the votes and identity to the member list we received from the RLCA board. The ballots were separated into groups of 20, and handed to the 3 vote counters. None of the counters were from the committee. They were volunteers from each side of the lake, and 1 from outside the community.
In an effort to be as transparent and accurate as possible, we asked several members not on the committee to act as observers of the vote count. Their directive was to discuss with the committee any part of the count that raised a concern to them. I told the observers that any concern would allow us to stop the count and take action to assure nothing was being done that members could see as questionable. I want to thank Sean Audie, Jeff Bartholomew, Bill Pease, and Rick Smith for volunteering to help insure the integrity of the election process.
The 3 counters each tallied the 20 votes from each ballot on separate tally sheets, then added up each candidates votes on that sheet. The counters and members of the election committee then compared the 3 tally sheets, and any differences were resolved by going back through the ballots. When the tally sheets matched, they were clamped together and set aside. When the counters had gone through all the ballots and verified the count sheets, the election committee removed 2 of the count sheets from each group of 20. A member of the committee and a 4th counter tallied all of the count sheets onto a master sheet, and I did the same on a separate master sheet. My count did not match the other master sheet, and no one seemed surprised, so I counted again with 2 of the original counters finding and pointing out my errors.
So totally we had 3 independent counts of the ballots that all matched. We then had 2 more counts of the totals that also matched. I am very, very confident that our count was accurate.

Members of the committee, you already know you’re the best. Finally, thanks to Rob Syverson and Gary Long who exceeded their responsibility as board members to volunteer their help.
