2022-08-01 Notice of Annual Meeting Election Results

RLCA Members,

Thank you to all who attended, planned, and participated in Saturday‘s Annual Meeting and Election.  Thank you to all the members who have served our community with your time and talents.
Many items were discussed and voted on, including three Board of Director positions, annual budget, and several by-laws changes.
Thank you to Dinece Brown, Jerry Parker, David and Kathy Vandermeer, Angie Ward, and Lucinda Wiser, for administering the election.  This year we had an historic number participating, 119 voting out of 186 eligible lots.
The new Board and Executive positions are as follows:
Joe Kokinda–President
Robert Syverson–Vice President
Jim Boothby– Treasurer
Sandi Bennett–Secretary
Directors–
Jeff Toffer
Gary Long
Charlie Bennett
Joe Dickinson
Russell Bishop
The 2022–2023 budget passed with 62 votes in favor, and 10 votes against.
There were several proposed by-laws amendments and additions to vote on this year.  By-laws require a majority of the membership in order to pass, which is 94 votes.
Amend By-Law 4.2 Annual Dues:  Change dues collection date from June 1 to August 1 to reflect the actual October 1 Budget.  Effective August 1, 2023
Passed with 97 votes.
 
Amend By-Law 10.1 Voting:  Change to include mail-in ballots.  This will eliminate the need for proxies.  Effective December 1, 2022
Failed with 92 votes.
Amend By-Law Article VII Policy and Procedures Line 2.  Add:  Common areas may not be sold, assigned, or gifted without the approval of the RLCA membership.  Effective December 1.
Failed with 87 votes.
New By-Law 5.13 Regarding the Water Association.  No RLCA Director can concurrently hold a position on the Reflection Water Association Board (RWA) or work for the RWA.  Effective December 1, 2022.
Failed with 88 votes.
New By-Law 5.14 Regarding Equal Representation.  No members of the same household may serve concurrently as principal officers of the RLCA Board of Directors.  Effective December 1, 2022.
Failed with 87 votes
 
In addition, the water testing results came back.  The lake is safe for people and dogs.  The water results came back with a 33 and water is not considered dangerous until that number reaches 300.
