2023-09-10 Letter From The RLCA President

September 2023 notes from The Board of Directors Meeting

The board meeting went well with the emphasis toward lake management.

and maintenance. VP Long urged updating our Fire Evacuation plan and

posting. Treasurer Parker will be proactive in the collection of unpaid members.

dues, and reminded everyone that a $20 late fee is about to kick in.

Secretary Browne is updating our member mailing list, and taken over the

communications central responsibilities.

Committee report from CMD spoke of the formal Dam Inspection happening this year:

A partial fish planting is coming soon, paid for by community donations. There will be

a future discussion about Firewise possibly becoming a separate committee.

The Social Committee has a large slate of activities on the drawing board but

is in dire need of volunteers to help share the load. As always, the Security

committee is lacking help, without security there is no PRIVATE LAKE and

Someone else may catch the fish you paid for.

Labor Day weekend signals the end of the season at the lake and depending.

on the weather we start winding down group activities. The new budget year

starts on October 1st. Between now and March 5th we do committee planning,

CMD work and social events.

The goals set for the 23-24 Board of Directors.

  • Deal with current lawsuits, try not to get sued, shine a light on any suits brought.
  • Immediately activate the Bylaws Committee to reflect current requirements.
  • Addressing the Mediation demands and Merger vote by members, both have brought

threats of lawsuits by members on both sides of the lake.

You can make a difference by volunteering for a committee; you will get to have a say instead of

wondering what “what were they” thinking. The Roads Committee is lacking members, Social, Budget,

Security, CMD, and Bylaws could all use a helping hand. If you plan to live in this recreational

paradise for a few more years, why not spend some time helping the community? A short training curve,

hours, perks and pay are the same as mine is!
